frequently asked questions (and some rantings.... we will warn you about first)
ARE APPOINTMENTS REQUIRED: Appointments are NOT required to shop here at Bridal Mart. (ranting) We want you to always feel welcome at our store. We constantly hear horror stories about the "big box" store and how you can't even touch a dress without an appointment, and how their sales people only have a limited amount of time to SELL you a dress or they have to get rid of you and move on to someone else because if they don't make their quota they get fired and....oh, never mind.
DO YOU OFFER ALTERATIONS:
Yes, we are lucky enough to have two very qualified, professional, talented ladies who love to sew and are located right next to our store. We get many, many great comments from our customers they have helped. You do not have to have purchased your dress here but you DO need an appointment. Their phone number is 912-201-3702. They are both certified to work on Maggie Sottero dresses.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO ORDER A DRESS:
Wedding dresses can take 3 to as much as 5 months to special order. If you haven't planned that far ahead most designers do have certain dresses they can ship sooner. Also, we can call and check their stock. If they don't have one in stock, they may have one coming in they can get us sooner. Designers usually do offer a rush service for an additional price but that doesn't usually save you but a few weeks. If you want, you can always purchase the dress from our stock that you tried on. If it comes even close to fitting, a seamstress can usually alter it to fit you. In any case, be sure to let us try to help you if your wedding date is soon. It's rare that we can't do ANYTHING to help.
Bridesmaid dresses usually take about 10 - 12 weeks. Once again, designers usually have dresses they can get sooner or they will do a rush for us. We keep several designers that can ship in about 3-4 weeks if necessary.
DO YOU MATCH PRICES:
If you find a dress on line that's less than our price BE CAREFUL. There are many, many web site that sell counterfeit dresses. They show the actual picture of the dress and description from the designer, but when get your dress, its a very cheap copy made in some little sweat shop in China (or wherever) Check out this link http://www.morilee.com/beware that should scare the daylights out of you. If you do run across a dress that's from an authentic site, let us know. We will usually match the price, but we have to also match the SERVICE. That means, no guarantee's what-so-ever. We won't provide measurements, sizing suggestions, alterations, you need to pay 100% up front, if it doesn't fit, your stuck with it! Just like on line, you get what you pay for. (Is it worth saving a few bucks for that??)
ARE KIDS WELCOME IN YOUR STORE:
We are Bridal Mart of Savannah, EVERYONE IS WELCOME. (ranting) However, we really don't have a "place" for kids to be kids. We have had kids "accidents" in our wedding gown room, so we do not allow them in that room where our brides try on their wedding dresses. On weekends we have many brides looking for their perfect wedding or bridesmaid dress and sometimes we have had children running around them. We try to walk that fine line of not turning away brides with kids or brides who don't have kids, so we ask that if you have a responsible adult where you can leave them, PLEASE do so, and if not please keep them under your control.
CAN I ORDER WITH A DEPOSIT OR DO I NEED TO PAY 100% DOWN:
To order a wedding gown we ask for a 50% deposit. The remaining amount is due when the dress arrives. Bridesmaid dresses require a 60% deposit and the balance is due when the dress is picked up or taken into alterations.

That's our Mom and Dad, unfortunately both deceased. (ranting) That shotgun wedding picture are relatives too. Our daughter Heather use to work here before her son Trey was born.
